Corky: SDC Day 1
It’s official….Corky’s back to Kamp for his rollercoaster fix. It was an official agreement between all three current Kampers that an early start was in order to achieve maximum ride time before the crowds woke up from their long naps and came out to SDC. So that is what we did…we departed Kamp at 7:50 AM and had downed our delicious cinnamon rolls by 9:15. Bobber and I hustled down to Powder Keg after all of the new and “improved” SDC opening ceremonies (they’re just longer…yawn…) to catch the front row on the second train. Our day kicked off from there, and included 2 rides on Powder Keg, 6 rides on Wildfire, and 1 ride on the Barn Swing. The weather was very cooperative, as the rain stopped as we arrived SDC and began again just as we left the parking lot. All of this considered, here are the official day one rankings:
4th place: ThuNderaTion (no rides)
3rd place: Giant Swing (long line, 1 shortened ride)
2nd place: Wildfire (6 rides, bumpy as the day went on)
1st place: Powder Keg (only 2 rides, but both were very smooth, lines very long later in the day)
Can not wait for day #2!!!
